Pieced Together—Patchwork Quilts from Russia
and Evolutions Featured Quilt Artist: Jill Kerttula.

The Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum (RMQM) has an exciting exhibit for its next series, including curated works from the Russian American Foundation that have not been seen outside of New York, as well as works from Charlottesville, VA artist and Evolutions 2017 winner Jill Kerttula. Pieced Together: Patchwork Quilts from Russia and Works from Jill Kerttula will be on display through October 20.



CALL FOR ENTRIES
Mosaic Patchwork
Entry period: May 1–30, 2019

The early piecing technique Mosaic Patchwork, also known as English Paper Piecing in the United States has seen a healthy resurgence in the past decade. RMQM offers quilters the opportunity to create their own Mosaic Patchwork masterpiece and submit for consideration in this upcoming exhibition.

Tradition Meets Contemporary
Pat Pauly
As a curator for exhibits such as "Quilts Uncovered: Treasures from Genesee Country Village Museum" and "Quilts 20/20" Pat Pauly gives an expansive look at the long history of quilt making, and its change and rebirth in the twenty-first century.  Presenting over 400 images in the span of an hour, she takes a look at the craft that has endured in America for nearly 250 years.


The mission of the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum is to collect, preserve, exhibit and educate the public about quilts;
honor quilt making traditions; and embrace the evolution of the art and craft of quilting.
