DESCRIPTION
South Carolina The Palmetto State Block 32 - The nickname refers to South Carolina’s official State Tree, the Sabal Palmetto. The Palmetto is rooted in historical significance dating back to the Revolutionary War. On June 28, 1776, when the British fleet’s attack on Sullivan’s Island was repulsed. The palmetto-log fort, under Colonel William Moultrie, withstood the barrage of British cannons until the fleet retreated. State symbols: Wood Duck, Yellow Jessamine. Other flower Gerber Daisy and Delphinium.

Finished block size 15in. - Our love for Baltimore Album Quilts made during the 1800's was the inspiration for our American Album Blocks. Each realistic album style block is filled with flowers, birds and a little American History. Each pattern includes full size numbered pattern with detailed embroidery instructions and Pearl's Easy Applique Techniques. Join us as we travel across America block by block and state by state.
