Hummingbird -Pictorial Hand Applique with David Taylor | Sept 14

Learn the freezer paper appliqué process for David Taylor's Hummingbird block using a pre-turned-edge technique and an invisible hand-stitch process. This is the process David uses on his award winning animal wall quilts. David gives lots of demonstrations including his pre-turned edge technique, eliminating the dreaded shadowing and an invisible hand stitch.

In this workshop David Taylor teachs his layered, hand-applique technique with simple applique shapes using freezer paper templates and liquid starch. The class will cover how David builds his pictorial wall quilts and how to get beautiful details by letting the fabric choices do all the hard work!
