So What is Kid's Kamp you might wonder...
Hooray, for Summer Camps!!

The museum will host four separate week-long Kids Kamps in June 2025.
Classes are held in our Classroom led by an experienced team of volunteers and RMQM staff.
Appropriate for ages eight through teen.
Classes are 9:00 to 3:00 PM daily - each Kamper should bring a lunch.

Each week focuses on several daily fun and useful projects which build skills, as well as a throw size quilt project completed by the end of the week. We will teach entry-level sewing (if needed) and provide education on textile arts and quilting.

Kampers will focus on machine piecing, ironing, color & design and finishing techniques. Intermediate and Advanced campers will expand their basic skills.

***Pick one week. The curriculum is not designed to be attended multiple weeks.

Curriculum and activities are the same for each week.
Machines and supplies will be provided. If you already have a machine (one that you know how to operate - and it is in good working condition) and/or fabrics you would like to use please feel free to bring them; however, you are not required to come with supplies.  All supplies are included in the Kamp fee.

Returning Kampers and those with Intermediate or Advanced skills will be given options on projects to challenge them and continue to upgrade their skills. Projects change from year to year.

All Kampers will have the opportunity to display their finished quilt in a special exhibit here at RMQM and also at the Quilt - A - Fair event in September.

NOTE: Qualified students who would like to participate, but are older than 15 and experienced sewers could be part of our volunteers. As a volunteer, they would not make the projects during Kamp time, but would help Kampers. We have a limited number of spots for these young volunteers, and past Kampers will be given preference. Call early, and provide details of your sewing experience and skills. Your application doesn't guarantee a spot.
