Featured Consignor
Meet RMQM featured consignor…Mary Morine
My love and appreciation of the creativity and workmanship expressed in crafts, especially anything fiber related, led to my creating things with cloth and thread. I try to express that fascination in my Treasure House Boxes, and in unique purses, fabric necklaces and applique pictures. The Treasure House Boxes are miniature boxes and sewn of an array of fabrics, lace and trim and decorative machine stitchery. Originally there were 16 models but as I am now in my 80s I’ve pared that down to nine as I use up a particular fabric for a particular house. I’ve made over 9,000 houses in the past 40 years, and I might add, perfecting them along the way, they have found their way to all corners of the globe. In addition to the nine houses, I’m still making purses, fabric necklaces, vests and miniature trees to go with the houses. I currently have my work in five galleries including the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. —Mary Morine
