Artistry Through Applique - an Afternoon with David Taylor | APRIL 9, 2026
David is coming BACK! If you didn't have the time to attend David's 5 day hands-on class a couple weeks ago in January - you won't want to miss this opportunity! An afternoon with David as he discusses his amazing process for starting with a photograph and using fabric to create a realistic image. Be entertained and AMAZED in typical David Taylor style! He has some RULES that are the keys to fabric choices to create realistic images. This lecture/demo-only class covers every step of David's process for creating applique art quilts that look like paintings using only fabric and thread. From pattern drawing to binding, every step is included. His technique requires only a love of fabric and quilting, and a willingness to spend months on the same project. The lecture is funny and informative. Students may record and take photographs.

Other enjoyable applications include decorating clothes, jeans, purses, and jackets, or personalizing special gifts. This class is designed to initiate you into a fun project while teaching the basics and helping you discover the joy of doodling with embroidery as you practice and perfect your newly learned stitches.
