Open group for those wanting to develop and create their own blue and white quilt. (or other 2 color quilt). This group is meeting to provide encouragement, guidance and accountability as members set their own goals in their process of creating 2 Color inspired quilts. Meets 1st Tuesdays 9:30 - 11 AM No registration required - FREE

Love English Paper Pieced quilts....have a project started or want to learn to paper-piece? This is the group for you. Come share your current project or learn from others in this low-key meeting where EPP enthusiasts meet for inspiration. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. Time: 1-3pm. No registration is required at this time. Cost: $ FREE / Museum admission not included.

Do you sometimes feel your quilt just isn't quite "RIGHT?" But you can't put your finger on the problem to solve it? Learn about the principles of design and color with demonstrations, and hands-on short class assignments. Students will learn how to look at compositions and solve visual problems and how your personality influences design choices and taking risks. Half day class taught by an artist who also makes PAPER Quits and is a master with composition and color.

Piecing lines is easy, but curves and inset circles are a bit of a challenge! Create your own Improv landscape as you learn these piecing skills. Create a Fat quarter size landscape wall hanging using these new skills and learning to create as your imagination moves you. Pick your own daytime or moonscape pallet - or ....create a piece of your own style while learning these techniques. Bonus: learn a set-in circle for the sun or moon. Bonus: If you have never tried Free Motion Quilting - here is a great chance to enjoy creating free motion curves, squiggles, and other patterns of your choice to create texture and flow in your piece. What color palette will you select for your piece? Full day class - so bring a bag lunch!

Want to learn basic embroidery stitches and be able to add those to your quilts? Then this is the class for you. Embroidery stitches are great additions to your quilts as either large stitches for quilting or added embellishments. Rita will teach you some basic stitches as well as more complex that will help enhance your project.

Do you need a special gift? Treasure Boxes might be the answer! Bring your own wooden box - less than 18" in height - Great ones are about 12"x 8" x 6" tall, with lid and a lock. It needs a lid. Bring some different size treasures and trinkets that you want to see on top of the box. Rita will show you the steps to turn that plain box into a a very special Treasure Box. Choosing a theme - you can create a special gift for anyone to store special memory items, or make a fantastic gift presentation.

Jane Mathews teaches her unique technique of quilting paper using junk mail, catalogs, maps, letters, photographs and more. Students will learn the basics of sewing on paper, creating a small paper quilt during class time.

3rd Fridays! 10 am - 12 pm The Rocky Mountain Quilt Study group gathers monthly to study and learn with presentations and / or discussions on quilt history, museum collections, and research methodology. You wouldn't believe the depth of information available and any participant is invited to present research they have been doing - and or request assistance from the group where they are stalled in their search for information. Cost: FREE / Museum admission not included.

Have a fun time creating a tree-ring artwork for your wall. There is a lot of freedom in this class as Diana Fox guides you to use the quilt-as-we-make method. This class is designed for an adult and child team. Learn skills, techniques, team work and a bit about tree rings in this team activity.

Learn David's turned-edge, layered, machine-applique technique using freezer paper templates, liquid starch and nylon invisible thread. Students need to have a sewing machine with 'adjustable blind hem stitch' capability.

Love it or hate it - your binding has to live up to the beauty of your quilt. This 4 hour class (with a brown bag lunch break) will give you the opportunity to learn, then actually apply perfect binding to a placemat sized project that you provide to class. Then you get to ask all those burning questions you still have - like how to bind scallops and other specially shaped edges.

Learn the basics of free-motion quilting and walking foot grid work, including choosing thread, batting, and needles. Learn designs and the basics of stitching on your quilt top using free-motion quilting as well as how to adapt stencils as quilting motifs. Class is held on three consecutive Wednesdays.
