Evolutions Juried show
Main Gallery
The Evolutions CFE show never disappoints with the variety of entries. A challenge was put out to all quilters and fiber artists in celebration of one's own personal journey in the quilting arts. Evolution can be defined as growth—a process of continuous change, from lower to higher or from simpler to more complex. RMQM challenged quilters and fiber artists to create their concept of an evolution quilt that represented their transition in the art of quilting. —on a personal level, on a global level, or perhaps related to changes and growth of their favorite means of creative expression, the quilt.

The jurors made their choices of the quilts that will be in the exhibit, and we think you will be surprised and delighted with the exhibit. The exhibit hall has quilts from RMQM's permanent collection interspersed to allow you to compare the quality of submitted quilts to our collection works, and see the variety RMQM has in house.

Thorns & Spikes | The 4 Common Corners Exhibit
Northeast Gallery
It is amazing to see what comes from a creative group of people challenging each other to create original quilts for a theme. They take 4 months to develop and create their work for each theme. This exhibit is the result of the THEME challenge "Thorns and Spikes" for a group who all live in the Common 4 Corner states, and the only rule is that their work represents these states. This exhibit will challenge your ideas - but why not start sketching your solution to the challenge to compare to theirs.

Exhibits are developed multiple ways.
Call for Entries (CFE)

One way an exhibition is developed is through a Call for Entries (CFE). CFE exhibits are when an exhibit hall sets requirements for an exhibit, then puts out a call for potential exhibitors to enter their work as a possible entrant to the exhibit. Anyone who meet the requirements set - can enter and many artists get their first opportunity to exhibit in this fashion. Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum presents Calls for Entries on a regular basis and "Quilts from Men" is a result of one of them. An exhibit later this year is also a CFE Exhibit: English Paper Piecing - for which the Call period will open May 1 and close May 31. See the Qualifications and Requilrements HERE.Proposals for Exhibits

Curated Collections or Shows

Another way Exhibits are developed is by artists and groups proposing sharing curated collections or shows. For information on how you might submit something - CLICK HERE.
