Legendary Ladies Visit Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum An exciting cast of notable women in Colorado's history - will join us in the gallery, to help us learn about the history of Colorado, and the west. Cast members will be representing 1818 to 1941, and include: Lola Montez - a dancer and actress, Belle Starr - "the female Jesse James", Anne Evans - a cultural pioneer who helped transform Denver into a 'City Beautiful", and Mary Elitch Long - a business woman when women had no political or financial power. Lite Refreshments are provided before the program. PRE-REGISTRATION is required to save a seat for you. NON-Members pay fee of $15. GUEST PASSES are not accepted for this event. Doors open at 12:30pm - Program starts at 1 pm

TEAM Quilting - BIG OCEAN beginner level with Holly Bailey | Alternating Saturdays Sept 19 - Nov 14, 2026
Enjoy working together with your favorite Kiddo to create a show stopping quilt that can be a Christmas present, or special remembrance of your time working together. Create a 'MODERN' version of a traditional quilt pattern, but use fabrics that provide the favorite "feel" you both want. Starting with Skills the kiddos learned in Kid's Kamp 2026 - you will use a basic block with lots of repetition, to perfect the starting skills to have fantastic quilts. Your team chooses their own colors, and you can even adjust the arrangement from what is shown in the picture, if you desire. Choose a 40" square quilt, or a 64" version - whatever will stretch the skills of your team as you desire. New to using your sewing machine? No worries. You will learn all the basics and gain confidence with it. This is a perfect class for Kid's Kamp Mom's who are not quilters - but would like to be able to work with their Kiddo. Vintage or Family Quilts - How to use or Preserve? Have you been given or found an older quilt from your family? A group of quilt blocks that need to be put into a top? A top that is almost ready to quilt -- or needs some help to get to that point? or an antique quilt that has been well loved and needs repairs to be able to be seen or used again? Where do you start? What do you need to consider? If it isn't in good condition - what can you do to make it usable? or at least be able to bring it out of the closet - so it can tell it's story. This intensive is for you to learn the possibilities, get educated on the things to consider and then apply that information to your project - to develop a plan for moving forward.

Learn about RMQM's history, the in's and outs of our operations - and how our volunteers get so much done. Completion of this class has you ready to start volunteering, and entering into our Shadowing Program for activities like Special Event setup/takedown teams, Trunk Show Presenters, Docents, and Installation team. Other volunteer activities, like office help, mailings, library assistance and education research are done working side by side with staff, so 'on the job' training occurs on your volunteer days - instead of the Shadowing Program. RMQM staff will help you find the best fit for your volunteer contributions.

Trunk Show Presenter and Researcher Training Day
Our Trunk Show Presenter and Research team gather to learn about new quilts that have come into the Education Collection, as well as get familiar with Trunk Shows they have not yet experienced. We will share learning time, with practice time, allowing time to troubleshoot our tech as well as experiment with presentation techniques. Several of our team will be making presentations sharing their career knowledge of ways to personalize presentations, as well as those things that should be said in every Trunk Show. Our research team will help educate us all on some of the cool things they have learned about various quilts in our collection. Join this amazing team. Learn and see how you can join our Presenters as they get to show off and talk about quilts!!
