2026 Kid's Kamp - Weeks 1, 2 and 4 are available for EARLY Registration
Kid’s Kamp 2026 – Early Registration Information Early Registration for Kid’s Kamp requires a current RMQM Membership Early Registration for current RMQM members opens January 12, 2026. Kid’s Kamp returns in June 2026 with exciting updates! The museum will host four separate, week-long camps. Weeks 1, 2, and 4 focus on entry-level sewing (as needed) and hands-on education in textile arts and quilting. Campers ages 8 through teens will learn foundational skills, expand their abilities, and design and complete either a wall hanging or throw-size quilt, guided by skilled volunteer mentors. RMQM provides high-quality sewing machines for each Kamper, and all materials and tools are generously donated by RMQM members and sponsors. Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; campers bring their own lunch for outdoor lunchtime. Campers may register for one week only (the program is not designed for multiple-week attendance): Week 1: June 1–5, 2026 Week 2: June 8–12, 2026 Week 4: June 22–26, 2026 Week 3 is a special Dream BIG advanced design week for experienced Kampers and is by invitation only.

Free Motion Quilting (FMQ) with Rita Meyerhoff | Feb 4, 11 & 18
Learn the basics of free-motion quilting and walking foot grid work, including choosing thread, batting, and needles. Learn designs and the basics of stitching on your quilt top using free-motion quilting as well as how to adapt stencils as quilting motifs. Class is held on three consecutive Wednesdays.

PQ-101: Quilting with Paper | Jane Mathews | Feb 10
Jane Mathews teaches her unique technique of quilting paper using junk mail, catalogs, maps, letters, photographs and more. Students will learn the basics of sewing on paper, creating a small paper quilt during class time.

PQ-102: Finishing your Paper Quilt | Jane Mathews | Feb 12
Finishing your Paper Quilt - allows you to take your Paper Quilt and prepare it to hang in your home or elsewhere. In her one day Quilting with Paper class, there is not enough time to finish your quilt for hanging, so Jane Mathews will teach the finishing techniques in this additional one day class. If you have a paper quilt that you have done previously and it is still unfinished - join Jane on Feb. 12, to get it finished in a professional manner.

Do you sometimes feel your quilt just isn't quite "RIGHT?" But you can't put your finger on the problem to solve it? Learn about the principles of design and color with demonstrations, and hands-on short class assignments. Students will learn how to look at compositions and solve visual problems and how your personality influences design choices and taking risks. Taught by an artist who also makes PAPER Quits and is a master with composition and color, Jane Mathews provides her amazing basics of color, value and composition in this 2 day class. Material costs are very minimal - but the changes to your quilts will be amazing.

Bring your words to life in fabric! In this fun and creative workshop, you’ll design one-of-a-kind projects that speak from the heart. Learn how to create your own alphabet designs and use fusing and raw-edge appliqué techniques to add meaningful names, words, or phrases to banners, pillows, and quilts. Personalize your projects with the names of loved ones, favorite places, or heartfelt expressions. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced quilter, you’ll leave inspired—and full of new ideas for your next creative adventure. Carol’s classes are known for being entertaining, imaginative, and full of laughter—so come learn, play, and stitch with her!
