This 4 hour class (with a brown bag lunch break) will give you the opportunity to learn, then actually apply perfect binding to a placemat sized project that you provide to class. Then you get to ask all those burning questions you still have - like how to bind scallops and other specially shaped edges.

Cost: $ 60.00
FPP has some great benefits and is actually an easy way to make some very complex patterns. BUT - you have to get started! This class uses a simple pattern from Carolyn McCormick called Faith, Hope and Love, to learn and practice FPP. In the first day, you will learn how to get started and piece 2 simple blocks - then you will get to practice as you repeat those blocks multiple times. Session 2 you will learn a more complicated block that completes the illusion of curves in this quilt, and you will piece together a whole section with the blocks you have created - so you can practice this as you put your quilt together. Session 3, you will learn how to measure and cut your borders and binding - and get ideas on your quilting patterns to match your skill level. Bonus!! The quilt you are creating was created for Breast Cancer Awareness. Choosing your colors - you can also create a wonderful gift for a friend to comfort them as they battle Breast Cancer.

Cost: $ 200.00
1930's women used what they had and often Foundation Paper Piecing was a favored technique. These classes will teach you the skills of FPP, including fussy cutting, tips and tricks. And as you work, the book you are using includes letters from your 1930's counterparts - so you can learn about their lives. There are 99 blocks but you are able to pick and choose which ones appeal to you as well as decide the block setting that you wish to use. Rita will get you started with a Full Day Class on Oct 2, 2024 - from 10 AM to 4 PM where she will walk you through the first 3 blocks. Then your class will meet the 1st Wednesday of each month from 9:30 AM-12:30 AM to learn more, encourage each other and see the progress being made. Your purchase of this item - signs you up for the first 3 months - Oct 2, 2024 - from 10 AM to 4 PM, & Nov 6, Dec 4 from 9:30 AM-12:30 AM Later months can be signed up for in groups of 3 months.
