American Quilt Study Group -
2006 Quilt Study

Contemporary quilt artists featured in this exhibit have researched and explored the fabrics, techniques and tools used by quilters in the 18th and 19th centuries.  The quilts and bed coverings featured in this show are contemporary reproductions and interpretations of originals.  These quilts and coverings were originally produced for the American Quilt Study Group’s 2006 Seminar, and have since traveled to various venues throughout the country

Cindy V. Hamilton’s quilt, “Early Compass and Diamonds”, is a study of “Mariner’s Compass Coverlet”, published in The Quilter’s Guild Collection: Contemporary Quilts, Heritage Inspiration, edited by Bridget Long.
