Meet the Board of Directors

Board of Directors
The following people are currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. The Board of Directors may be contacted via email at board_director@rmqm.org.
President: Lou Ann Bissett—Lou, a quilter, is a retired Community Service Officer for City of Longmont, CO. She owned a quilt shop from 1980 to 1985, and managed a quilt shop in 1998-1999. She formerly served on the Board of Directors for Longmont Coalition for Women in Crisis. Lou is currently a realtor with Real Estate of the Rockies, Denver.
Vice President: Diana Smith—A quilter, Diana works as Analyst Specialist at Denver International Airport. She has a B.A. in Organizational Development and previous experience in Human Services. Diana is a member of the Human Resources Advisory Committee for the City & County of Denver the Society of Human Resource Professionals, and the International Personnel Management Association. In addition, she is a member of Front Range Contemporary Quilters and Arapahoe County Quilters, and is a Denver Public Library homebound volunteer.
Treasurer: Carol Born—Carol is a quilter and a CPA, formerly the Assistant Corporate Controller with Andersen Consulting/Accenture (Chicago), and formerly the Director of Internal Audit for Arthur Andersen (Chicago). She retired to Denver in 2002, and not only serves on the Board of Directors for the museum, but also volunteers regularly as a Docent.
Secretary: Wendy Atkinson—Wendy has advanced degrees in engineering management & mathematics, and has been a real estate broker in the Denver Metro area for the past seven years. Although not a quilter herself, Wendy joined the RMQM Board to honor her Mother, who is an exceptional quilter.

Joyce McIntire—Joyce is the Vice President for Commercial Lending at Liberty Savings Bank.

 

 

 

Tracy Mueller —Tracy is the owner of a cleaning service for commercial, residential, property management and real estate companies. Her past positions include 7 years for the Federal government Bureau of Reclamation and Office of the Solicitor as a lead in Human Resources; Construction for and environmental company;  Bookkeeper for the Mountain Water and Sanitation District; and  Special Education Assistant for Middle School and Platte Canyon Senior High in Bailey.

 

Denise Starck— Denise, a quilter and stay-at-home mom to Spencer, works as a freelance graphic designer. She is the graphic and web designer for Colorado Quilting Council, is actively involved with Arapahoe County Quilters, and volunteers with The Women's Crisis and Family Outreach Center in Douglas County.
